Sunto

La matematica a fumetti è un genere letterario associato alla ``pop math,'' la pratica all'interno della cultura popolare di rendere la matematica piacevole e comprensibile in senso lato. Emergendo verso la prima parte del ventesimo secolo, assieme a film e romanzi che similmente incorporarono temi matematici, la matematica a fumetti ha da sempre reso divertenti e comprensibili temi matematici assai complessi. Questo articolo esamina le particolari caratteristiche che rendono questo tipo di testo un potente mezzo per narrare la matematica in modo coerente, vale a dire la visualità, la narratività e la forza retorica del testo fumettistico. Tale testo non minimizza, né smentisce, gli obiettivi intellettuali e filosofici della disciplina, ma piuttosto li presenta con un linguaggio visivo-narrativo che permette a chiunque di penetrare la sua capacità di descrivere il mondo nei suoi diversi aspetti.
