In this work the flexural-torsional post-buckling behaviour of elastic beams is analyzed from a theoretical and experimental point of view. The theoretical analysis is developed by means of the classical perturbation method. The experimental analysis suggestes instead a simple technique for the evaluation of the coefficient $\lambda_{2}$, that characterizes the quadratic approximation of the equilibrium branched path. A comparison between theoretical and experimental results is also presented.
