In 26 adult specimens of Tinca tinca the right half of the corpus cerebelli was removed. The degenerative, reparative and restitutive processes following the removal are described. The reparative process begins with the outflow of the liquor by which the cut borders are approached. The restitutive processes begin with the rise of the mitotic activity which reaches the maximum about the end of the first month (20th~30th day) andthen decreases, becoming very low at the end of the second month. At the sixth month a smaller right cerebellar half is present. It is to be noted that the behavioural disturbances shown by the just operated animals disappear gradually and, at the end of the 2nd month, the recovery is complete: so the physiological recovery precedes the morphological regeneration.
