In the new structures of the regenerating central nervous system of adults of Amphibians the ventricular migration of undifferentiated nervous cells goes on as in the normal developing tissue. The ratio of the extraependymal mitoses rises in the unaffected old neurvous tissue. This rise is a true increase which indicates that the ventricular migration is hindered by the well differentiated nervous tissue of the adult. Therefore the ventricular migration in the unaffected nervous tissue of the adult Amphibians is not influenced by modifications of the cytoplasmic viscosity as happens during the development.
