Sunto

The present paper attempts to extend the application of the crystal field model to transition metal complexes of MeX5Y type of d3 electronic configuration and non-cubic symmetry. The polyelectronic eigenfunctions have been obtained and classified according to transformation properties of the double group $C^{\star}_{4v}$. Using the strong field scheme, the energy matrices have been calculated taking into account all the perturbations: effect of the crystal field, interelectronic repulsion and spin-orbit coupling. Calculations on the compounds [ReX5(PPh3)] PPh3H (X = Cl , Br) are in progress.
