Sunto

The solar activity, referred to the distance of Mars, is considered. It has been found that in the days about August 20, 1956 this activity reached an intensity never reached before since 1877 during the periods of observability of the planet. The fact that precisely in those days unprecedented extraordinary events and modifications ofthe soil of Mars took place, is recalled. Pointing out this close relation it is possible to draw the conclusion that the solar activity could have been connected with the genesis of the phenomena observed on the planet. Considering the subsequent opposition of Mars in 1958, the year in which solar activity reached its absolute maximum, it is observed that also in that year similar phenomena (which for the most part escaped telescopic observation) could have happened on Mars.
