Sunto

The paper deals with some new dithiocarbazates and nitroso-dithiocarbazates. Iron salts were obtained following different methods: metathesis in aqueous solutions between ferric salts and ammonium or alkali dithiocarbazates; direct action of hydrazines and carbon disulfide, simultaneously, on ferric hydroxide; reaction between dithiocarbazic acids and ferric acetyl-acetonate. The salts are of the general types: {(R·N2H2·CS2)3}Fe·{R·N2H2·CS2H}3; {(R·N2H2·CS2)3}Fe; {(R·N2H2·CS2)5-H}Fe2; {(R·N2H2·CS2)2-H}Fe. Nitroso salts were obtained by metathesis from solutions of ferrous salts, saturated with NO, and ammonium or alkali dithiocarbazates, as well as by nitrosation of ferrous dithiocarbazates with NO. Nitroso salts are of the general type: {(R·N2H2·CS2)2Fe-NO}; {(R·N2H2·CS2)2Fe·(NO)2}; {(R·N2H·CS2)Fe·NO}. These salts, show a marked analogy with ferric dithiocarbamates and nitroso dithiocarbamates, respectively, a class of compounds already studied by L. Cambi. They are paramagnetic and show the characteristic behaviour of ferric derivatives. The structure of the various salts and the probable action of dibasic anions or dithiocarbazic radicals are discussed.
