The histology of the cortex of the optic tectum of different Anura (Bufo bufo, Bufo viridis, Hyla arborea, Xenopus laevis) has been studied using the tungstate impregnation method of Ramon-Moliner. The presence of bipolar associative neurons, as previously related by the Author in the optic tectum of the frog (Rana esculenta), has been confirmed. These observations furthermore confirm the opinions of those Authors that collect together the patterns of the histology of the mesemcephalic lamina of the optic tectum of the Anura and of the Reptiles in one type of common organization. The comparation among different Anura has not revealed different patterns in the histology of the cortex of the optic tectum.
