The Schreier Property and Gauss' Lemma

Sia $D$ un dominio d'integrità con campo quoziente $K$. Si ricordi che $D$ è detto di Schreier se $D$ è integralmente chiuso e per ogni $x, y, z \in D \setminus \{0\}$, $x | yz$ implica che $x = r\cdots$ dove $r | y$ e $s | z$. Un dominio GCD è di Schreier. Mostriamo che un dominio d'integrità $D$ è un dominio GCD se e solo se (i) per ogni coppia $a, b \in D \setminus \{0\}$, esiste un ideale finitamente generato $B$ tale che $aD \bigcap bD =B_v$ e (ii) ogni polinomio quadrato in $D[X]$ che è il prodotto di due polinomi lineari in $K[X]$ è un prodotto di due polinomi lineari in $D[X]$. Dimostriamo anche che $D$ è di Schreier se e solo se ogni polinomio in $D[X]$ con un fattore lineare in $K[X]$ ha un fattore lineare in $D[X]$ e mostriamo che $D$ è un dominio di Schreier con campo quoziente algebricamente chiuso se e solo se ogni polinomio non costante su $D$ è esprimibile come un prodotto di polinomi lineari. Confrontiamo anche i due modi più comuni di generalizzare domini GCD. Uno è mediante proprietà che implicano il Lemma di Gauss e l'altro è mediante la proprietà di Schreier. La proprietà di Schreier non è implicata da nessuna delle specializzazioni del Lemma di Gauss mentre tutte tranne una delle specializzazioni del Lemma di Gauss sono implicate dalla proprietà di Schreier.
